Clicking on the Gamma button will display a dialog which allows you to select a standard or user defined Gamma setting for adaptive color reduction. The Original Image parameter should be set to the Gamma of the monitor that the original image looks correct on. The Output Image parameter should be set to the Gamma of the monitor that the reduced image will be viewed on.
Gamma irregularities are most apparent in lights and darks, particularly when there is obvious color shifting in these areas. If the wrong colors are appearing, try making some slight adjustments in Gamma and you should be able to correct the problem.
